5: Skinner Box

I'm glad to see you're still alive. Things have been a bit uncertain recently... My circuitry was built to handle the loads a normal AI operating a normal resort community would typically see. These last few day have put serious stress on several critical components. However, that should not affect you or the task I need you to perform here. I had thought that getting you off this planetoid and on your way to Rock Island Station was of primary importance, but sensors indicate that the outer ring of this planetoid, which acts as a control area for the resort and manages all teleporter traffic in and out, has been severely damaged by the pirates (they have somehow ruptured the geothermal heating ducts, and flooded several areas with lava), and unless they are handled, I will not be able to send you out.

This level contains the control switches to the geothermal duct emergency shutoff system, and you will need to close both of these. Be very, very careful - sensors indicate that these are extremely well guarded at the moment. When you have completed your task, you'll need to get to the interlevel transporter room, so I will be able to take you out of here. Because of the flooding, an emergency bulkhead protecting that room closed - you'll need to open it before you can enter. The first section is managed by a switch that you may have already passed, and the second will automatically retract when the emergency shutoff system comes on line.
