Lyragon / Azrael

We are currently directly above the area where Azrael says his data core is buried. Because he knows where the core is and how you should get there, he will give you instructions. My data core is buried about half of a mile underground. You can reach it by going through the abandoned Ph'for ore mining station that lies directly through those doors to the left of your current position. The station is now flooded, but there is no reason to believe anything has taken shelter inside besides the native creatures. Once you find your way through the station, you'll find a small Ph'for compound. This one is still in operation, but all you'll have to do is go through it to find the caves where my creators stashed my data core. The Ph'for use transporters to bring their creatures there, but they have dampening fields in place currently,

and are at full alert due to the massive explosion that echoed down from the surface. Anyway, after you go through the compound, you'll make your way through a mile or so of caves before you find the building where my core is hidden. It's far enough in that the Ph'for haven't found it, and I have no maps of the caves. Once you have the core, we should be able to bring you out using the ancient transporters that my creators no doubt put in place in the structure.

Fyrael's History (Part 1) Circa 2214 A.D. Current Date Estimate: 2417 A.D.

The Midulon were a peaceful race from a planet called Midula. They became technologically advanced within the first thousand years of their existence and even found ways of converting their physical bodies into pure energy, thus making their abilities infinite. As the Midulon entered their golden age around 2100 A.D., they began something called the Guardian Project. The end goal was to create 2 beings that were immortal as long as they had any kind of raw energy to consume. Raw energy could also, in theory, make them stronger. The beings would be used to protect the Midulon world. Upon completion thirty years later, the beings were named Razael and Rafyel. They had all the powers the Midulon had designed, but they also had something the Midulon had not intended- intelligence. In case anyone ever found a way to destroy them, they created copies

and stashed them deep underground in a secret lab on a remote planet. However, these copies had no physical form like the true beings. They were simply data that could be inserted into a Midulon to give it the properties of either of the creatures. Out of fear of side effects, the Midulon never used them.

Marine's Thoughts

Hmmm... this room looks identical to the lab shown in the picture in the terminal I found earlier.

Fyrael's History (Part 2) Circa 2245 A.D. Current Date Estimate: 2417 A.D.

Unfortunately for the Midulon, the 2 beings used their intelligence to outsmart their creators. Razael rebelled near-instantaneously after its conception, killing every Midulon on the planet on which it was created and then erasing data from all Midulon computer systems until it was no longer known which planet had been hosting the Guardian project. The copies could now never be found, effectively making Razael immortal. Rafyel escaped as well, but stayed in seclusion for some time after that. Razael on the other hand, began destroying everything it could find. It annhilated the entire planet of Midula, reducing its creators to a race of space pirates. It also wiped out several entire species, including the Orbotos and the Hemalites. During the destruction of the Falion species, the remaining Midulon saw an opportunity for victory. Razael was inside a massive Falion building

called the Deifying Well that was so sturdily built that even Razael had to transport himself inside. The Midulon transfered all energy inside the well to their ship, cutting off Razael from his power source. Razael's physical form diminished within the well until its entire mind broke down and it was no more. However, the copies are still currently lost to the universe.

All units report to noted (disturbance, tremor?) inside current (compound, city?) Failure to comply will result in prompt execution. Possibly same cause as above disruption. All doors have been shut to (contain, smash?) the intruding force, and to prevent any further entrance. The expedition to the Eastern caves has been halted due to the inexplicable (depletion, destruction?) of units. *WARNING- SECURITY BREACH* Units report to first floor, Central (communication, link?) terminal.

Fyrael's History (Part 3) Circa 2250-2280 A.D. Current Date Estimate: 2417 A.D.

Now convinced that everything involved with the Gaurdian Project must be destroyed, the Midulon went on a rabid search for Rafyel. They did not find him, for Rafyel had gone into hiding operating as a mere AI for a race of beings called the Iccons, who were obsessed with documenting events in great detail. This race was not known to the Midulon, and Rafyel was never found, even after decades of search. Midulon worries increased to the point of revolt several times, and the fear of a return of Rafyel was high. Also, new studies the Midulon conducted showed that the copies still stashed somewhere in the galaxy might be sentient, thinking beings, even though they had no physical form____If___--daw-#$(@$_%(($_____unite-#@!@$R@Z@E1ph'form__--couldberestored_______>........... error Someone's erased the rest of this message.

The empire's war on the humans and the UESC has been virtually lost. Those responsible have been executed. Remaining forces are regrouping and returning to this sector via the Nautilus wormhole. They will be destroyed with time. It is also of note that the last known copy of Tycho has gone (missing, dropped?). A search is being conducted and it will certainly be found soon. It is at this point somewhat (deranged, roasted?) and in need of prompt repair. Long live the Ph'for empire.

Welcome. You have diffused to this place.

It appears the building was in less repair than it seemed from the inside. Judging by the data you've gathered, these caves have changed drastically both due to the Ph'for and other natural causes. Now that you're here, however, none of that matters. I've downloaded all of my essential parts into a chip in Vault 3, where my creators placed most of the experiments they were working on. This chip was one of the experiments, designed to hold large amounts of data. Go into the vault and grab the chip. The dampening fields originally put on this place are weak after so long without maintenance. Lyragon will transport you back the Virulent as soon as you have it. We are leaving this planet at once. He has already managed to conduct the necessary operations on the ship by confusing the Ph'for computers.

Everything is proceeding as planned.
