The Pfhor haven't gotten the message yet... We intercepted distress messages from humans on this colony outpost. The Pfhor have attacked a printing facility here. We have not been able to determine what tactical advantage this serves. Perhaps the Pfhor need to take a journey to oblivion. Together we might yet take on that grim task. The Pfhor have a jamming signal focused on the area, making transport in or out impossible. We were able to drop you in through a hole in the roof, but we can't send you weapons or ammo inside the building. You'll have to make do with what you can find lying around.
You've got two mission objectives: 1. Help your humans. They are putting up a good fight, but the Pfhor keep sending in reinforcements. It's getting sticky in there. 2. Install a booster chip in the base of the transport transmit tower. This will help override the jamming by boosting the transport signal. You'll get to exercise that destructive impulse you find so hard to resist. Unfortunately, there are some problems with our plan: Due to the jamming, we've only been able to send the booster to a location outside the building, which is in a state of lock-down. You'll need to defeat the automated system before you can obtain the chip. We have only been able to access the terminals on the top floor of the facility, but they appear to be on a different net than those in the rest of the building. We can't obtain enough information on the security system in order to determine how to disable it. You'll need to find some terminals hooked into the main floor net and look for the information there. Once you've accessed all of the main floor terminals, find another terminal on the upper floor where we can send you further instructions.
We wonder if the humans would have bothered with exploration and colonization if they had known ahead of time what a bureaucratic hell they would eventually create for themselves... We have pieced together the partial information that you managed to retrieve. It is possible to open one of the security doors by destroying a series of 4 electrical panels. The location of the first panel is indicated on this map.
The second panel is located here, and we have extrapolated from the data that the third panel is nearby. The location of the forth panel is unknown, but should be somewhere on the ground floor. Destroy all of the panels to gain access to the booster uplink chip located outside the north east area of the building.

All failures to follow proper security protocols will be reported to colony command in the next command promotion review cycle. Lock-down procedures: All facility doors are equipped with fail-safe magnetic locks which are powered by a sub-systems within the structure. In the event of non-authorized weapons fire the lock-down engages, holding the intruders captive until marine forces can arrive to neutralize the problem. While secure, the system has one small side effect -- that of holding any friendly forces captive within proximity of the aggressors. ACME SECURITY SYSTEMS feels that this represents an acceptable tradeoff between security and cost concerns. Worst case scenario simulations place the projected casualty rate at an acceptable 30% in this eventuality. ACME Security Systems Specifications for Uplink Tower Mister Print Offworld Facility S'skat'oon Colony Outpost 47 As per colonial bylaw 207:322 subsection c61, all large facilities must now be equipped with a jumppad capable of direct contact with the closest colony capital. Accordingly, the Mister Print Offworld Facility has been equipped with a Jump Transmit Tower DynaBlab System Mark 37. This unit represents an attractive tradoff between affordability and dependability, with fewer than 1 in 25000 transport incidents reported over the life of the product. This tower, when equipped with approved power sources, has an effective radius of 300 SRU. All power and control centers are located beneath ground to minimize the effects of atmosphere ionization which has nearly halved the incidence of ionic reflective clone-back. In the case of the Mister Print facility, this has had the added benefit of allowing the use of an existing underground river as a cooling source for the transmit coils, eliminating the usual bulkly heat exchange unit. Interference from the local fauna has been negligible, and the predictions of thermal pollution have proven to have been exaggerated. Emergency jumppad access is available via catwalk from the roof of the building. To prevent unauthorized access, the catwalk has been included in the usual emergency lock-down procedures. Fail-safe has been provided by circuit protection towers loca%#21~roo( xa&6z? ... /z <c237189:3aac31>spurious interrupt - connection terminated.

I mean, sure this invasion is going to push things a bit, but can you guys put in some overtime once things settle down? Get back to me ASAP, and don't forget that the client *is* leaving on a shuttle for Yy'taro, so we really can't get more time. He needs those brochures! I know you'll do your best, and good luck with those Pfhor guys, eh? -Jar

According to our colony records, your weapons and ammunition rations should be adequate. However, I hasten to remind you that only those authorized should be permitted to handle these items. We can't risk legal exposure in the event of an injury sustained by untrained personel. > we are suffering major casualties, and we can't even retreat. All security systems in the building have kicked in and we are trapped inside! Please tell us what is going on! We've been looking at the data we have on hand here, and it looks like this is deliberate behavior on the part of the systems here. Tell me I've got this wrong! How do we disable this idiot thing before we are all killed!? Under no circumstances are unauthorized personel to attempt to retrieve proprietary security data from your systems. This information is stricly confidential. If there has been a breach of protocol, it will be dealt with in the harshest possible terms, possibly even a delay in the normal promotion cycle. There is no known way to circumvent the lock-down prodecures, but don't worry. We've called a council meeting and your situation is near the top of the agenda. Sit tight, and help will be on the way.

Congratulations... you managed to disable the security lock-out system and retrieve the booster chip without our help. Unfortunately, there are certain rules to this version of reality. One of them is that you have to examine all of the terminals in the production area before the jumppad on the roof will function. Sorry, but you really did have to follow the instructions we gave. So, before you head to the roof, go to the production area and make sure you've looked at every terminal in there. Otherwise, you'll be standing on the jumppad wondering what is supposed to happen... Your humans will now be able to fend for themselves. We need you elsewhere. We are in the process of activating a new ship and we have a plan we are sure you will be very interested in participating in. Get to the roof and we can get you out via an emergency jumppad in the tower. According to the security data you gathered, there are two lockout circuits on the roof that you will need to destroy in order to release the catwalk. Watch your back -- the Pfhor have organized a welcome party for you up there.
