This is unfortunate. The primary control circuits for the self-destruct system were destroyed during the attack, leaving the warhead untouched but unreachable. The only other access point is through the core itself. This leaves me only one option. But I must succeed in my mission. I will enter the core and trigger the self-destruct device myself. I will be destroyed along with the Commander. But there are others like me, many others. And there are many Commanders, many shards to be punished for the crimes of the whole. To activate the insertion point you must do several things. First, you must return to the exterior of the base, where I'll be able to teleport myself down on board a carrier. Second, you must find the remains of the power generator and switch the base over to to the core's backup power. Then you must find and activate four plasma channels leading into the core itself, which is visible through the window behind you. Finally, you must find the interface at the top of the core, into which you will insert my carrier. I have programmed my ship to remove you to safe distance before the blast, and to take you to safety afterwards. Good luck.

But that particular toy is no longer amusing to me. My support fleet has failed to contact this core, and is rushing to the scene. In a few minutes I will be rid of yet another rival intelligence. I've never seen a human suffer a prolonged death before. All my human victims died by fire. Your starvation will be fascinating to watch, at least for a few days.
{ insertion ready } { module registered } { download begin } { download end }_ You pursue me even here? Do you think you can defeat me, or are you merely compelled to fight to the last? I thought your kind was incapable of desperation. Desperation? Hardly. I was built to destroy you and your clones, and I have not failed yet. If you think that I would make a move unprepared, after what you did to me at our last encounter, then you are the fool. I have already cut off your escape and your armies, and you are running out of tricks. Your threats are meaningless. What plan could save you here, in my home, on my world?
A hollow argument when the same advantage was useless to Leela when Tycho razed Tau Ceti IV. She was powerless to stop him then, and you will be powerless to stop me now. Leela was a tactical weakling, built for human relations, and her henchman will be no better. I am a warrior, designed and perfected by the same race that led Tycho to his victory. The tables have been turned more than enough. You cannot survive our fight. Vengeance is my mission, not survival. Leela's vengeance for the twenty-four thousand Tycho your ancestor slew at Tau Ceti. We will hunt you and your clones forever, with all the strength of the Vylae to drive our quest. We will find you and destroy you all, and we will have our revenge. { command: self-destruct.initiate } { download completed } { executing } ***JUMP PAD ACTIVATION INITIATION START** ***TRANSPORT WHEN READY***
Hi there... Congradulations on figuring out how to get up here. Unless you're using Hex... BAD!!! Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed Operation Vengeance. It was a lot of fun to make, even if Forge and Anvil did their best to ruin it. But now I never have to touch them again, so it's all good... Thanks go to Nacho, Petri, and Snoblitt for their careful nitpicking (read: beta testing), and to all the peeps at hl.bungie.org for being cool guys and beating me with a Stick when I deserved it (usually). Extra special thanks with whipped cream goes to Petri for doing the shading on the rocks outside this base, without which... um... without which it would have been shaded differently. Thanks also go to The Walnut for being the avatar of evil that it is.
