Our (excavation?) of this site has made much progress over the last few (months?). It appears as though the interior consists of a (labrynth?) of waterways which act as a form of coolant ducts.
The water appears to maintain the (temperature?) of these monoliths. The purpose of these monoliths is still a (mystery?) to us, although we (suspect?) they are part of a computer network of some sort.

During my brief exile, I had some time to learn more about this place from the AI that managed it thousands of years ago. The AI referes to itself by ((6577325)) )((7255592))), a name you would not be able to pronounce, as it is essentially a stream of raw data that changes every processor cycle. I could tell you it's name, but then I'd have to kill you...
From what I can gather, the race of beings that created all this went extinct some 23,900 years ago. The remaining survivors regressed away from sapience to become these lovable creatures you have been pummelling to death. Not to worry. They have regressed to the point where their intelligence is about that of a laborador retriever, so it's not like you're killing sentient, Galactic citizens.
