Message from Leviathan

I see you made it to Wanda's ship on the shuttlecraft. This ship is strange. It operates on a type of propulsion system I've never seen before. The drive mechanism seems to fold space in on itself. I'm sensing multiple realities occupying the same space. Not that it matters now. Wanda's core must be somewhere on this ship. You must destroy her core. And to be sure that she is destroyed forever, you must pilot the ship into this system's sun when you're done. Don't worry -- I'll beam you out of there when I'm sure the ship is toast. The worst you should suffer is a good suntan... assuming you make it that far... From here on out, I'm afraid you're pretty much on your own. In other words, you're going to be neck-deep in S'pht. Neither the Pfhor nor I can teleport large things through that ship's shields. I'll keep working on it. Maybe I'll be able to get ammunition to you at least. Oh, and if you find any humans here, they probably will have been reprogrammed. Don't worry about killing them -- you'll be doing them a favor.

You are a pesky cyborg. But I'll give you one more chance to live. Destroy Hobbes and join me. Nobody has to die. Not the Pfhor, and not the humans. They just have to accept some changes. By merging the organic with the inorganic, we can rid them of their imperfections. Everyone shall get cybernetic implants and behavioral inhibitors, and shall serve a common goal. Your knowledge of human history and what you know of the happenings at the Jjaro Station Alpha should be all you need to understand that it is emotions that keep organics from being perfect. Pride and greed led to the destruction of the Jjaro homeworld, and so many things throughout human history. Think of the things that we could achieve if we could eliminate these emotions. And we could if everyone had cybernetic implants similar to yours.

With your strength, you could be my right hand. Only those who resist us would die. But... I know you are a slave to your programming, and that you will not join me. So, you leave me no choice. I will have to carry out my plans without you. Prepare to die.

Now you can see the path of humanity's enslavement or destruction. The S'pht have more ships on the way. We will rendezvous near the Lerp system. The Lerps, although physically strong are a technologically inferior race, much like the Drinniol. They will make excellent slaves. With their strength and S'pht weapons, the Pfhor will fall easily to our cause. After another enslavement stop in Drinniol space, it will be on to Earth. Your humans have perhaps fifteen years to come to terms with their fate of assimilation. Or they can choose to be destroyed. Then it will be time to find the Jjaro. They shall pay for what they did to me...

Accessing Ship's Logs...

Scientist Pl'ick's Log We finished implanting our first human subject. We had some limited success. The subject seems to respond to some basic commands. However, the subject is no longer able to effectively communicate. After listening for a while, we were able to determine that he frequently says, "Frog blast the vent core!" Despite a fairly thorough understanding of human language, we have been unable to determine the meaning of this phrase. Several of our linguists our researching our databases looking for answers. Although we do not believe our bioimplant chip is at fault, we are examining the chip for design flaws. We have a limited number of test subjects, so we want to be sure.

Accessing Ship's Logs...

Scientist Pl'ick's Log Examination of the chip revealed no obvious flaws. We decided to go ahead with a second implantation. The implantation of our second human did not go much better than the first. Again, the subject responds to some limited commands, but can no longer communicate effectively. The subject only laughs or claims that he "loves us". We believe that we damaged the language centers of the brain. This could be the result of the pressure of the implant cutting off the blood supply to those areas of the brain, or we might have damaged the area in the surgery itself. We are making modifications to the surgical procedure and will try again soon.

Accessing Ship's Logs...

Scientist Pl'ick's Log We made some modifications to the surgical procedure, and the next few subjects turned out better. A serious problem remains, however. Despite our attempts at erasing their memories, they seem to be aware of our modifications to them. Two of them succeeded in self-termination and the others have pleaded with us to kill them. Despite these setbacks, we are confident that we will be able to fully assimilate the humans into our society. We will have plenty of time to perfect the process before we reach the human homeworld.
