------------------------------------------- This is it. Our final stop. I can't totally purge this place of the Venom, but I think destroying the complex itself will. You're standing in the third lowest level of the complex, the lowest being the core itself. This mission will take a while, so I hope you're prepared to do a bit of hiking. The following directions must be followed precisely, because time is in some ways limited. I don't think you're up to take on an entire battle group. -------------------------------------------
This sector, sector 1, contains four major levels, each packed with Pfhor and an underlying security system. The Vylae must've hoped that trespassers would get lost in this place before they could unlock the core, but I have figured out how this mission is to be done. Your first task will be to deactivate 4 security barriers, each located on the upper level. Ironically, the switches to the barriers are all located in the middle level of the area, which is lead to by a gray pathway leading out of a large room nearby. Each of the four switches will be located there, and if any are not active then you will have to do a lot of backtracking later on.
Your second task will be to retrieve four security keys, behind the four security barriers. After you are done with the middle level, you should be lead back here. The big room will lead you to an elevator that will take you to the upper level, where you will find the keys.
After doing that, you must go to the lower level and insert the keys there. There are some shafts that will lead you down there from the upper levels, but I recommend just carrying all 4 keys at once. Once the four keys are inserted, the way to the core, in the middle of the area, will be opened. You can reach this place by taking an elevator in a shadowy corner of a massive room in the lower level.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, once you are in the core, find a way to expose the main hydraulic control circuits and then smash them. I won't bother explaining what will happen then, but after you've done that find a terminal other than this and I'll be able to send you back to the Amethyst. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------- I said specifically that I didn't want you to return here. I can't really take you out underneath all of this water, but a drier terminal is located near the elevator to the upper level. Get out of here now, before the water pressure crushes you. -------------------------------------------
Ahoy, matey. This is Shadowbreaker... 12 years later. Congratulations, you've found the secret end terminal! Over the years I've had occasional inklings to release another version, but I wanted to preserve as much of the story and graphics as possible. "The Balance" was actually made in 2015. Drictelt (Andreas Nuyts) had the idea for a sewage scenario with an AI called Zenith. He and I made the textures while Axle_Gear (Kevin M.) and $lave (Lukas Timmerman) made some maps. It's nice to have a chance to make some extra content and give this scenario a new release after all this time. Anyway, finish the mission and return here for the ending. Thank you for playing!
------------------------------------------- Excellent work. I'm so pleased that I won't spoil this moment with a disparaging comment about normal humans. Speaking of them, I explained how we didn't find treasure after all... we'd better make ourselves scarce before the Pfhor come back for more. In a matter of moments, the hydraulic pressure valves will collapse, causing the entire complex to sink into the lagoon, to forever lie in ruins. All of the physical and electronic evidence of the Venom is gone, and I hope you'll keep what happened today quiet. -------------------------------------------
