I’m afraid there’s been a slight change of plan. As you will have realized, you’re not where I said you would be. The instant you beamed out of the shuttle, the Pfhor garrison activated their planetary defense shield. Just before the force lattice was completed, I was able to redirect your teleport signal to the Pfhor outpost’s shield generator complex. Our enemies here have made some interesting modifications to the standard design, and it will take me some time to fully analyse its structure and modulation so I can beam out large objects like you and the BOBs. Unfortunately, we don’t have that time. Instead of helping the BOBs directly, you will be more effective here by deactivating the shield.
Our initial scans of the planet have revealed much about the Pfhor defense shield and its support systems. To disable it, you will need to set three interlocks, like this one. This will prevent power reaching the shield generator matrix and allow you to leave the complex. To cut the power completely, the interlocks will have to be set precisely, as shown here. Once the shield has collapsed, I can bring you and the BOBs back to the Imbroglio. You will be able to re-equip yourself and return to the planet’s surface and eliminate the remaining Pfhor.
At the moment you are in the centre of the complex. The generator system here operates automatically -- the machinery is controlled remotely from Central Operations. However, your presence will have almost certainly have been detected, and considerable numbers of Pfhor guards will soon be transported to your location. The complex is subdivided by security doors which can only be opened with a Pfhor ident key. Your first task is to locate such a key -- all I know is that it’s held in a matter-shielded safe somewhere near here. Security keys are encoded for specific doors -- if you encounter other security doors you will need to seek out their own keys -- the one you’re looking for now won’t open them. Each key works only once.
When you’ve set all the interlocks, make your way to this Pfhor communications terminal. Strangely, it’s not guarded by the Pfhor security computer, so I will be able to detect your log-on signal and bring you and then the BOBs back. You will have to set the interlocks to reach it. Wotan PS I do appreciate that ammunition is limited. I’m trying to calculate the spacing of the shield lattice so I can beam down small quantities of matter, such as ammo packs. In the meantime you’ll have to do what you can to conserve your supply. Sorry.
