Time: 15:32, September 19 Location: Core chamber of the Dark Star Here at last. Pressure's on, eh? Immediately outside of this room is the main power flux for the renegades' weapon. The core is powered by a steady flow of plasma, which is shielded by a trio of... well, shields. Because of automated failsafe systems, you cannot modify the plasma flow while the machine is on unless the shields are removed. There are four computer uplinks around the core. Find four override cards and put them into each uplink. Once you do that, I should be able to disable the plasma system. Once the system is disabled, things are likely to go south very soon. Immediately after you put in the four override chips, return here.

The renegades are undoubtedly fully aware of where you are, and what your goal is, and they have sent in every single available unit of any type to come and stop you. One last thing: another failsafe will prevent you from leaving the core chamber once you put in the first override chip, until you insert the last one, which means you won't be able to access anything in here until you finish. Have fun.

Magnificent work; we could see the explosions from here. Reports indicate that the renegades on the surface have been defeated... it's over.

Except it isn't. Now that the Pfhor have won the fight against the renegades, they can fully re-focus their military on recovering their ship, the Acheron. The explosions you heard were the results of the tower exploding, taking out the rest of the renegades on the surface and the majority of the Pfhor with them. Here are the problems we currently face. 1) The standing Pfhor armies on the surface are too numerous for us to defeat, should they attack the ship. 2) We have discovered numerous tracking devices in the Acheron that would allow the Pfhor to follow us wherever we take it. 3) We're all simply too tired to take the Pfhor on.

But there's a shortcut we can take. The Pfhor have several missile silos scattered across their region of control on the planet. These silos house large nuclear-esque missiles which are capable of reaching almost any target on the planet, but luckily unable to reach our ship. The idea... well, the idea is pretty clear. They haven't used the missiles because the renegades had lasers capable of taking them out without doing any damage to their structures. So, now they're just sitting in their silos. I'll explain more when you get there. Keep your eyes open near the insertion point for a terminal.

Congratulations, you found the secret terminal for this level. I hope you had as much fun playing "Inferno" as I had making it, because man, I had fun making it. Particularly, I enjoyed this devilish feeling of overwhelming you, and I hope that I succeeded. If you honestly had the level in control the entire time, well, I must applaud your efforts. So what do you get from this terminal? NOTHING! HA HA! Okay, maybe a little tidbit.

There was once going to be a secret level accessed through this terminal, but I decided I didn't really want to make a secret level. So here, I'll go on a tangent about the EMP Cannon, that shiny black thing that you probably have. Originally, it was going to be a secret weapon, obtained only from secret levels. Of course, there are no secret levels in The Gray Incident anymore, so that wouldn't work. Instead I planned on housing the gun only in good secrets on the existing levels, but I liked the gun too much to let it go to waste like that, and I was averse to the idea of a "super weapon", so I changed it over from a Nuke Packet-esque gun (from EVIL) to the EMP Cannon, which only hurts machines.

But I suppose that little story didn't entertain you much, did it? After all, you did have the presence of mind (or maybe you just forgot where the real terminal was) to check back here, and as such, you were rewarded with this, and now you want something more. Hmm... can I take a rain check on that? You've got two levels left. There's bound to be better secret terminals there. Maybe not. I don't care. The Gray Incident secret terminal 5/7
