It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to manipulate the complex's functions directly. You are now in the main equipment bay, from which the Pfhor have salvaged many of the strange machines that were left here. One thing they left behind is a magnetic field generator that is halting my remote access to most of the complex, which you're going to deactivate. Oddly, the two switches which control the device are at opposite ends of the bay. I have specified the location of them on the map. You can expect them to be heavily guarded, because the Pfhor anticipated your presence here.

------------------------------------------- It strikes me as a bit of a shame to waste good cyborgs on menial tasks like guarding a funny machine. But, those S'pht were past redemption. Maybe I'll get lucky next time. -------------------------------------------
Before we go on though, I thought it only fair to share the things I have learned so far. In fact, the information was my reward to our soft bodied friends back on the Amethyst for fixing up the ship and beating the Pfhor off. I don't know if you've done any studies on intergalactic races, but the computers you activated claim that this complex was not of Jjaro or S'pht manufacture, but of a mysterious race's, called the Vylae. Apparently, this world was just an inhospitable jungle, full of poisonous soil and plant life. The Vylae originally built this complex as a large research facility, but it seems as if they found a different use for it in the end. Prior to me reading the those terminals, humanity knew next to nothing about the Vylae, other than the fact that one of Marathon's three AIs is now dismantled and in their hands. Perhaps I could sell this knowledge...
------------------------------------------- My knowledge and my omnipresence in the complex are not yet complete, however. The terminals said nothing about what the ultimate purpose of this place really was, but did tell me where to find that out. You're not quite done here yet... -------------------------------------------
