Your friends are constantly inquiring about your safety. I've been forced to back away from the planet a bit, lest the Pfhor attack again. Some of the crew begin to think I'm lying to them. There certainly is no treasure here, which seems to be upsetting their simple minds. I, on the other hand, think there is much more to be found here than something of monetary value. To the north of this coolant facility there is a high security vault, which I assume contains the true secret of the complex. The vault requires 7 authentication keys, presumably one from each of the 7 lead scientists. The insects were stupid enough to hold each of the keys right next to the vault itself, so you won't have much trouble finding them.

------------------------------------------- In order to get to the vault though, you'll need to flood the main chamber next to it and swim over. The Vylae could not fly, but sometimes used hovering platforms to reach their destinations. -------------------------------------------

The more you deactivated the info-locks, the more insight I gained as to what the purpose of this place is. You might be surprised... Apparently this complex was built exactly 423 Earth years ago, and originally served as a research facility for the Vylae to study the exotic nature at. Much of the plant life and soil was teeming with parasites and diseases lethal to the Vylae. Incidentally, many Vylae suffered from a cancer-like disease, which they believed a cure could be created from one of the parasites on this planet. The Vylae did in fact manage to produce the cure after many years of research, despite common belief that the disease was largely uncurable. Before the scientists could become famous for their discovery though, the Pfhor slavers invaded many of the Vylae Union's outer worlds. Quickly thinking, the scientists developed an abomination of all of the parasites and diseases they had studied, creating a sort of super-disease which they believed would be capable of killing masses of any type of organism.

By the time they had completed the "venom", many of the Vylae living on the outer worlds of their network had been killed. The scientists quickly deployed the Venom onto all of the outer planets, killing virtually everything on them. The Pfhor were apparently so amazed by their enormous defeat that they hardly ever fought the Vylae again. The plaguing of the outer worlds boxed the Vylae into their cozy 15 world network. This terminal doesn't say what exactly happened to the scientists, but I assume they died here of accidental deaths during research. But, they must have returned here and documented their discovery and its success, for on this computer is the formula for the Venom itself. Most of it just seems more like an "eye of newt" type of formula to me than something actually scientifically engineered, it seems to be a big mess of strange parasites.

------------------------------------------- I'll bet you're wondering what I'm going to do with this then. Those strange barrels you saw earlier contained many of the necessary components for the Venom itself, and I assume I won't find those ingredients anywhere else. I think I'm going to destroy it. Using a threat like that is just asking for UESC naval police to get crafty, and I don't want to take the chance that the Pfhor haven't evolved beyond immunity of the Venom. Pirates kill what they must, innocent bystanders should never be the victims of their lust for glory. -------------------------------------------
