Welcome to what me and the other BOBs like to refer to as the "Lavaworks." Mere hours ago, some freak seismic activity nearly ripped this facility in half. Naturally, the normally formidable forces here are in disarray. We always wanted to scrape around that portal technology, but everyone was too timid to charge into a fully operational facility in order to figure out how it works. Thanks to you, we are able to replicate the same technology here, and tack on a few improvements such as being able to specify a destination; an absolutely vital system absent on the last one, which apparently opens to random locations. Of course, the destinations we determine might seem random until we can dechiper the coordinate system they use.

There is a power core in this base that has been disconnected, and the machines in the area are making sure it does not 'accidentally' reroute power to this section of the facility. Fortunately, the recent boost in morale in finding a potential way back to Earth has freed up most of my previously timid soldiers. They will be running distractions against the bulk of the machine forces to give you a better chance at infiltrating. The AI's that maintain this planet are getting pretty edgy, and for all we know this place could explode into a warzone. So don't linger too long, or we might be overrun before you get back.
