16: Black Lagoon

Oh... hello. I didn't see you there. You look as if you are lost. You are as I was, then. Violet and I were just walking through the park at night... and we heard a noise. It wasn't loud, just a small hum. Why, oh why did she have to know what it was? Look what a mess we are in. I hope she is safe, I know I'm not.

Next thing you know we awoke on that glowing pad right over there. We walked outside and established that we were underground. We seemed to be on the shore of some kind of island. We were just going to walk around the shore for a couple of minutes, just a little while, and she kept staring at the water... I told her to stop, it was probably dangerous. She was walking a little faster than me, and I let my mind wander... I looked up and she was gone. I called her name over and over... will you find my love? But stay away from that wretched water, there's something wrong with it.

Hi! I'm Violet... but how'd you get down here? Have you seen Richard? Oh, I suppose you don't know who he is... I don't think he knows I'm down here. Hopefully he hasn't forgotten me. I just wanted to touch the water, just once. It kept sparkling and telling me to touch it. I didn't know any better... I... Richard knew there was something evil about it, he told me.
