10: Pushing Onwards

A little while ago we found an old Renegade base that seems to have been abandoned for some time. I decided to bring down most of the Istanbul's crew to have a little planetside base. In the event that something horrible happens up here, at least most of the staff will survive. They're preparing for some serious action. They know something's about to happen. They're afraid, but they're good men. If nothing else, they can breathe some fresh air.

I think you could improve morale a bit if you walked around and visited a few of the troops. They'll be a bit more confident if they know you'll be fighting along their side. Head to the teleporter at the south end of the complex. We've got a little bit of time before we make our move, so feel free to stretch your legs and take a little time with the people here. When you're ready, I'll give you an update.

The S'pht'kr have urged me to take a different approach in finding the Atreides. It makes sense; we just can't find the damn thing on our own, but the Renegades might know about it, and if they wrote it down someplace... One thing we found from the Renegade base we captured was a fragment of data about some kind of "foreign technology" being transferred to a complex atop a nearby mountain. I don't think they're referring to Pfhor tech, but I suppose it's possible. Anyway, it's worth a look.

The Renegades have fortified basically the entire mountain, and it appears that they've successfully repelled any Pfhor efforts so far, to the point that they've been discouraged from further attacks. I don't want to needlessly kill any of the security staff, but I'm not sure even you can pull off a frontal attack on their fortress by yourself. The teleporter behind you will send you to the installation at the base of the mountain. You will be joined by a few men to get a foothold in the area. Please try to keep them alive.

SECRET EXIT LOCATED!

[S'pht translator active] Good to see you, friend. We have had a minor inconvenience here on this slaver ship. Particularly, a small pocket of insurgents has managed to elude our sweeps and is attempting to sabotage us. We would be [?indebted] to you if you could help us. It should not take long, and we believe your Director has no [?pressing] urge to continue her attack on the A'khr. We will bring you on board this vessel immediately.

SECRET EXIT ENABLED...
